Agribusiness
Our commitment to excellence extends to every stage of our supply chain.
Our Beef Supply Chain
We work to provide consistent quality and quantity by managing the supply chain from end to end, maximizing animal performance through genetics and husbandry practices, and influencing industry to adopt best practice.
Harvest Road’s vertically integrated supply chain allows us to oversee every aspect, from breeding to processing. Our extensive pastoral aggregations cover approximately 2.7 million hectares, and our three intensive farming aggregations encompass around 24,000 hectares.
Our Koojan Downs feeding facility has a 20,000-head capacity. Our bull breeding unit and stock horse breeding unit uphold our dedication to quality. We prioritise sustainability and continue to align the purpose of our properties with the potential of each region.
Optimizing Western Australia's Abundant Regions
Across the diverse environments of Western Australia, our business unfolds across various regions. We begin in the Kimberley, harnessing the reliable rainfall for extensive breeding herds.
Transitioning to the West Pilbara and Gascoyne, we utilise the high value pastures for extensive backgrounding, adapting to seasonal changes. Less productive lands see us focus on finishing cows.
Moving to the Mid-West and South-West WA, intensive backgrounding on developed pastures becomes the focus. Our supply chain is finely tuned, with the Koojan Downs Feeding Facility strategically placed near feed sources and transport routes, and our journey culminates at Harvey Beef, close to labour and consumer markets.
Beyond our processing, we continue to engage with WA producers, fostering partnerships to enhance the sustainability and quality of the WA beef industry.
The purpose of integration within the supply chain at Harvest Road is twofold.
Firstly, we aim to ensure a consistent and high-quality supply of product from Harvey Beef, regardless of the challenges posed by seasonal variations and market fluctuations. Our supply chain is demand-driven, meaning it aligns with the requirements of customers and the broader market.
Secondly, our approach actively involves and engages producers at every stage of the supply chain, with the goal of enhancing efficiency, and creating mutual value for both Harvest Road and our partners.
Looking ahead, Harvest Road is unwavering in its commitment to furthering the Western Australian beef industry. We place a strong emphasis on nurturing relationships with producers and other stakeholders, and our expansion efforts are guided by feedback and market insights.
We invite you to join us on this journey towards a sustainable and prosperous future for Australian agriculture as part of the Harvest Road Group.
